Make friends, make waves, make a difference: College Excel student organizations

Plan a holiday event. Take new students on tour of the local slopes. Assist local families. Work to stop hunger. These are just a few of the activities you can participate in as a member of our student organizations.

Service Learning:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Equine Outreach - Fall 2007 College Excel is undertaking a yearlong project helping nurture rescued horses back to health.  Every Friday students meet at the facility and provide labor, love and treats for the neglected and abused horses.  For more information, see our Current Events page.

Ronald McDonald House - December 2007 College Excel will be working on a two week service project for the children of the Ronald McDonald House.  Students will support the children and their families through the holidays by helping with activities and providing general labor.

Past projects - December of 2006 staff and students traveled to New Orleans to work with a non-profit organization to demolish and rebuild houses that were destroyed by the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. See our photo gallery for a photographic essay of the experience.

Activities and Events: Planning parties and sponsoring game nights and tournaments.

Mentors: Helping new students learn the ropes and get acquainted with the town and college.

RA's and Leadership Committee: Residential Assistants are College Excel students that have earned a leadership role in our community by demonstrating their ability to work hard, keep commitments, form healthy relationships and excel academically.  Positions open every term and students receive a stipend for their services. To apply, students must have completed 2 successful terms with College Excel.
