From the moment you arrive at College Excel, your own academic and life coach will walk you through the program, the college and the town.

As you settle in, you'll begin learning the skills you need to reinvent yourself. Every day, you'll be surrounded by a caring team of college professors, tutors, advisers and coaches who will show you how to push through the limiting beliefs that prevent you from believing in your gifts and talents.

Your academic coach will work with you on acquiring the skills and strategies necessary to be a successful student. Your life coach will help you navigate the college scene while keeping you focused on your goals and moving forward.

As you build a successful academic record, you'll also be coached through a carefully-structured transformational process that will turn your goals into reality. Our expertly-trained team of coaches use the most advanced, well-researched techniques and strategies available in the field of personal transformation and education.

In fact, our coaching model is currently used to bring out the best in Fortune 500 executives, professional athletes, rock stars, politicians, and national leaders. This program isn't just about getting through college, but excelling at life.

Research has proven that it takes 90 days for the brain to establish a new habit. Based on this finding, our process is delivered in three 90-day segments, each with a specific goal that assures your transformation is both successful and sustainable. Each segment is based on the three stages a runner goes through when running a 100 yard sprint. These stages are the same process the brain needs to go through to prepare, commit and execute a challenge successfully.

Here's how they break down:



Stage One : Get Ready

In the first 90 days, we'll work with you to examine your motives, discover what's holding you back academically and personally, and develop a plan to move you forward.

During this time, you'll be earning college credit by participating in our College Success curriculum, which gives you the skills, strategies and knowledge to be a thriving college student. When you're not in class, you'll work with your life coach to develop a compelling and exciting vision of what your future can be.

This vision of the future needs to include a strong emotional connection, create hope within you, and be something you can realistically achieve. Once developed, this vision will be the key you'll use to unlock the motivation you need to keep focused, move forward and participate in your life in a new way.

By the end of this segment, you'll have a complete vision of your future and a detailed plan with specific goals you'll need to achieve to keep moving forward. Each goal is broken down into a set of benchmarks to ensure that you're making constant progress.



Stage Two : Get Set

Nothing changes until you change your behavior.

Behavioral change and transformation don’t happen by accident. They require deliberate action everyday. In this stage, you'll begin the hard work of practicing the skills, strategies, attitudes and behaviors necessary to accomplish the vision of your future.

At this point, you've completed our College Success curriculum and are registered for courses that you chose with the guidance of your academic coach and advisor. During this process, you'll learn how to pick the best professors for your learning style, create a schedule to which you can stay committed, set up any academic support services you require and use the campus resources to your advantage.



Stage Three : Go

The main focus of segment three is to establish a rhythm of academic success.

You'll work closely with your academic coach and advisors to decide your next course of action.

We'll guide you through the process of transferring to a different school or staying on at one of the local universities. We can help you arrange college tours, assist you with the application process and do whatever it takes to pave your path toward a college degree.

You'll continue to practice adapting your behavior to get your desired results while becoming proficient at cultivating the internal motivation you need to succeed in any situation you face.

This is when you begin to take over the responsibilities for maintaining the changes you've made. We'll also make sure you have the necessary skills and self-coaching techniques to maintain the changes you have made to your behavior and attitude.

 


Each student is different, so the length of our program varies.

After nine months, some students decide to stay on and continue to receive our full services.

Other students may still want support, but not require our full program. Those students can continue at a reduced tuition rate to allow them access to our facilities and coaching services as needed.

For students leaving Bend to transfer to another college, we also offer transition coaching packages.
