Shelley DoughertyStaff Spotlight:
Shelley Dougherty

Shelley Dougherty, our Admissions Counselor, has been a member of the College Excel team since July of 2005.

We feel very fortunate to have Shelley as part of our team and feel immense gratitude for her contributions to our program. Simply put, without Shelley's enthusiasm and unique ability to articulate our philosophy, College Excel would not be the same. Shelley's warm, yet professional manner is perfect for recruiting potential referral sources and making clients feel safe and heard.

Shelley first got to know Jeannie Crowell at NorthStar 13 years ago, where Jeannie was Director of Student Life and Shelley was a student. After Shelley graduated from the NorthStar program, she stayed on to help out in the admissions department. From NorthStar she went to work at Mount Bachelor Academy as a mentor. Seeking more education in the area of young adult and adolescent treatment, Shelley applied to and was accepted to Linfield College in Oregon where she majored in psychology and minored in business.

Shelley returned to Bend in 1998 where she began her illustrious career as a shoe model. She also spent her time working in Bend's trendiest restaurants and for Patagonia's flagship store, Pandora's Backpack.

In 2005, Jeannie Crowell sought Shelley out to find out about mentoring a young woman. This conversation initiated what has become a terrific business relationship for us.

Shelley is a wonderful resource for both young adults and their parents who are considering the College Excel program. She speaks from a place of experience and with true compassion and understanding.

Sadly, Shelley lost her longtime canine companion, Brandy this month. Our hearts are with you, Shelley.
