What are the main things you look for in applicants?
To be successful at College Excel, you need to be ready to make significant changes and to put in the time, effort and hard work it will take to reinvent yourself. All of our students are here by choice and have accepted they need support to be successful academically and/or personally.
The four major factors we consider when reviewing applicants are:
• Your readiness to seriously pursue a college education
• The level of personal accountability you take for your decisions and actions
• Your willingness to hear and give feedback
• Your ability to be a good citizen and contributing member of our community

What happens after I submit my application?
Once you’ve sent in your completed application, our admissions counselor will call you to verify your information, learn more about your goals and answer any questions you may have about the program. This is also a good opportunity to get answers to any questions you have about us or applying to our partner colleges.
When can I enroll?
We admit students year round with applications accepted as early as one year before the start of any term. Our three month terms coincide with the quarterly schedules of our partner colleges where you will do your coursework.
Can I enroll in the middle of a term?
Students are welcome to join College Excel at anytime and are often eligible to receive two college credits when they enroll midterm. Regardless of the date of enrollment you will immediately join other first term students in fun activities, workouts, independent living skills courses and coaching sessions. (Tuition for mid-term students is prorated.)
How do I apply to a partner college?
You will work with our admissions counselor to decide on and complete the application process for attending either Oregon State University’s Cascade Campus or Central Oregon Community College. As part of College Excel, you are guaranteed admission to the community college even if student registration is closed for the term. To apply to Oregon State Cascades Campus you must meet admission requirements and application deadlines.
What happens if I am not accepted to the College Excel program?
If we believe you're not quite ready for College Excel, but may benefit at a later time, we'll work with you, your family, and any consulting professionals to develop a plan that enables you to attend in the future.
